I have really made a name for myself.

It was my junior year in high school and I had to make a decision about what I was going to do with my life. I knew I couldn’t support myself. I had no goals. I didn’t even know what I really wanted to do.
Recruiters had been to school and told us all about opportunities available in the Navy. I decided to go for it and signed up as a Yeoman.
After I joined the Navy, I became a go-getter. I am now the leading Petty Officer for the Chief of Naval Personnel’s Secretariat. I have a staff that reports to me. What makes me really proud is being known as the “go-to guy” — if you need something, see me and I’ll take care of it.
Thanks to credits earned through “A” School (Navy technical school) and my work experience, I only have 12 credits left to complete before I earn my General Administration Associate’s degree. The Navy helped cover my tuition as well.
I look back at all that I have done during my career and I am really proud of what I have accomplished. There’s no way I would have done as much with my life if I had not enlisted.
