I didn’t know what I was looking for, but I found it in the Navy.

My life was lacking direction, and I didn’t have anyone to help me - to guide me and help make a man out of me. My friends weren’t interested in their futures. I worked in a bunch of temporary jobs that offered me nothing. I didn’t want to be part of any of that. I needed to get away from home and make something out of myself.
I knew I had to do something with my life while I was trying to decide what I wanted to do.
Right now, I am just two semesters shy of graduating with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. I work in an Intelligence section, teaching pilots and Intelligence Specialists different programs.
The Navy has really shaped me. I’m more confident. I take responsibility. Before I joined, it was all about me; now I’m a team player. One day, I might end up in the FBI or CIA. But that’s not until after I retire. I want to be an Officer and stay in the Navy.
