Jobs in the emergency, fire, and rescue fields can provide hands-on training in areas such as preventive medicine, firefighting, damage control, and emergency equipment repair. Sailors in this field can work in any number of environments: on board ships and submarines, as part of an air squadron, or with Special Forces units.
