In her high school physics class, LT Barnwell got the “bug” — a sense of excitement when problem-solving. From that point on, it was destined she would become an engineer. She is currently a Naval Reactors Engineer. LT Barnwell attended the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), graduating with a BS in electrical engineering and computer science. The Navy has allowed LT Barnwell to further her higher education, and she has obtained a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and is finishing a master’s degree in nuclear engineering. Always testing herself, LT Barnwell loves the new challenges she is faced with on a daily basis as a Naval Reactors Engineer.
