America's Navy values diversity, quality and inclusivity - striving to build a base of servicemembers that accurately reflect the rich makeup of our country. Our belief is that with hard work and determination, anyone from anywhere has the power to be successful in the Navy.
Beyond the Call: LT Art Castro video
We are committed to creating an environment where people from various backgrounds and cultures can excel personally and professionally every day. We recognize that diversity and equality offer an exceptional way for the Navy to strengthen itself, so we support and encourage both in our ranks at every level, including senior leadership.
To better understand the diverse people and communities that make up the Navy, visit our Facebook page, where you can interact with real servicemembers, their family members, military supporters and other potential recruits.
A MISSION TO BROADEN OUTREACH
Our mission is to continue to increase cultural collaboration and understanding, broaden our community outreach and strengthen our internal support infrastructure, now and in the future. One way we enable this is through our Command Managed Equal Opportunity (CMEO) Program, which is designed to ensure that merit, ability, performance and potential lead to promotions.
HISTORIC INCREASES IN MINORITY ADMISSIONS
America's Navy has built connections that have resulted in historic increases in minority entrance into the Navy. In fact, in 2017, minority Officer representation reached 34% and minority Enlisted representation reached 42%.
